Get a Library Card

Your library card opens doors to a world of knowledge and entertainment! With it, you can borrow a variety of materials, including books (fiction, nonfiction, children's, large print, young adult), audiobooks, DVDs, and more.

Who Can Get a Card?

Residents of Woodward County or any of the following surrounding counties are eligible: Dewey, Ellis, Harper, Major, and Woods.

What You'll Need:

Library Account Types

Children & Teens (17 and Under):

There is no minimum age requirement for a child's library card. However, a parent, guardian, or legal caregiver must accompany the child during the application process. You will also need to provide verification of your current physical address, and the parent/guardian will be required to sign the application.

These accounts do not collect overdue library fines.

Digital Library Card

If you are unable to visit the library in person or are only interested in the library's online collection of eBooks, audiobooks, and more, you can access a digital library. To qualify, you must be at least 18 years old and reside in the library's service area, which includes Dewey, Ellis, Harper, Major, Woods, and Woodward Counties. Additionally, you will need to provide a valid mailing address, email address, phone number, and date of birth.

To register for a digital library card, complete the online application. After our staff processes your application, your Digital Library Card number will be sent to the email address you provided on the registration form and a physical card will be mailed to you. If your address is found to be invalid, you will be asked to apply for a library card in person with proof of address (see above).

Apply for a Digital Library Card

If you have an existing account with the library, you cannot apply for a digital library card. Contact the library to learn how you can obtain your account information.

Institutions & Educators:

To obtain a library card, you must present a valid photo ID, proof of your current physical address (as outlined above), and verification of your current employment or affiliation with an educational institution.

Temporary Residents:

If you are not a permanent resident of Northwest Oklahoma but are staying temporarily, you may still be able to obtain a temporary library card. You'll need to provide a photo ID and a letter from your employer or the director of your residence (if applicable) confirming your current residency or employment in the region.

See Borrowing Basics for more information about how you can use your library card.
