Summer – Adults 2024

The library is transitioning to a winter program for adults in 2025, but we are offering one final creative summer challenge as we close out this program. There are also plenty of other activities occurring at the library this summer!

Summer Activity Challenge

Dive into summer and creatively share your experiences!

Capture and share your summer reading and experiences your way with a creative summer project. Enjoy your summer, read, create memories, and earn an entry into a prize drawing!

Document your summer adventures and books you've read, and present them in a format of your choice.

Summer Book Bundles

Discover a new adventure with Summer Book Bundles! Check out a themed bag from the library from June through July. For every book bundle you check out, you will be entered into a cash prize drawing. Each bag contains two books. You must have a library card to checkout a Summer Book Bundle.

Let's Talk About It Book Club

Let's Talk About It is a scholar-led book club funded by a generous grant from Oklahoma Humanities. We are reading Janet Evanovich's One for the Money, the first book in the Stephanie Plum series. Dr. Roxie James of NWOSU will be presenting and leading the conversation.

WPL Book Club

Join us to discuss Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods, a hilarious record of the dangers, quirky characters, and awe-inspiring scenery he encountered on his trek from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail.

Drop in for a chill coloring experience. Coloring pages, colored pencils, markers, snacks and beverages are provided.

Bring your current fiber art project to the library to work on and chat with fellow crafters.

Woodward Reads

Join the yearlong reading challenge! Read a different book for each month, based on a different theme. Discover new genres, authors, and perspectives, and earn a drawing entry each month when you log your book. Complete the whole challenge to be entered into the end of the year prize bonanza!

Upcoming Themes:

  • June: Adventure – A book about a real-life adventure.
  • July: Collaboration – A book written by two or more authors.
