The WPL is asking all customers to wear a mask while inside the library

Because Covid-19 cases are on the rise nationwide and in our own community, we ask that everyone wear a mask inside the library to protect both customers and staff. If you do not have a mask, we can provide one to you for free (children’s sizes are also available).

The County of Woodward is strongly encouraging masks in indoor spaces and when unable to keep a six-foot distance between you and another community member. You can read the Proclamation of the City of Woodward HERE and/or the County of Woodward’s Resolution HERE.

The WPL’s 18th Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest

The WPL’s 18th Annual Pumpkin Decorating contest is going virtual!

We are doing things a little differently this year. As no actual pumpkins will be making their way into the library, you are free to be as creative and liberal with a carving knife as you want—on the pumpkin that is!  Paint, glue, or carve–No theme, no restrictions—we only ask that you keep your pumpkins family friendly!

We will have four age categories:

Adult (18+)

A cash prize of $75 will be awarded to the Most Creative in each age group (to be decided on by a panel of judges) and we will have a Most Liked winner selected from the most liked photo on our Facebook page who will win $150!  Be sure to visit and check out our Facebook Pumpkin Photo Album to vote on your favorite.

Please read the rules carefully. We would hate for you to be unable to participate!

RBDigital is Moving!

The Woodward Public Library will be moving our digital ebooks and audiobooks from RBdigital to the Libby app as part of our OverDrive collection on September 9, 2020. You will continue to be able to browse, borrow, and enjoy all the same great ebooks and audiobooks you loved in the RBdigital app, now available in Libby.

If you have already been enjoying the Libby app, there will be no change, other than you may notice even more great titles available for you to borrow.

Transition from RBdigital

If you currently have a book checked out in the RBdigital app, it will be available through the remainder of the lending period, so you can finish your title without disruption or risk of losing your place in the book. Holds will not be moved, but you may export your Transaction History from the RBdigital websites by accessing My Account > Profiles. You can place holds on those titles again in Libby.

For the time being, you can continue to use the RBdigital app to access magazines through ZINIO.

Getting Started with Libby

Our library is proud to continue to offer you a wide selection of digital titles for you to access anytime, anywhere through Libby, the one-tap reading app.

For those who have not yet tried the Libby app, all you need to get started is your library card number and the default pin/pass [userpass] all lowercase and without the brackets.

The Libby app is easy to use and will guide you through the setup process and get you connected to our library in just a few minutes. You can find in-app support, or visit the Help site or Libby Academy within the app for assistance.

New to ebooks and audiobooks?

In just a few taps, you can start reading or listening instantly on your phone or tablet. The digital library is available 24/7 without leaving home and is free from our library. Choose from bestsellers, fiction, nonfiction, books for kids, and more. Download the Libby app to get started!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten!

The Woodward Public Library is excited to announce a new program to encourage early children’s literacy!

This program is for children ages Birth-5 and the goal of the program is to read to your child every day and reach 1,000 books before he/she enters kindergarten!

It’s as easy as reading 1 book a day to reach the goal in 3 years, or reading 3 books a day to reach your goal in 1 year. Whatever your speed, our hope is that you and your child will foster a new love of literature and have fun in doing so!

Ready to get started?

Register at the library beginning September 8th (Tuesday) and receive a book bag containing program information, a reading log, a literacy calendar, a bookmark, a sticker, a coloring sheet, and a book to get you and your child started.

Every time your child completes 100 books, they can come in for a milestone sticker and a new log! A picture will be taken and posted on our Facebook page at each 100, 500, 800, and 1,000 Milestone! Once your child has reached 1,000 books, their picture will be placed on the library Wall of Fame and they will receive a special prize!
